I'm needing ideas on how to sell 'learn to skydive' courses. Main customer base would be age 20-35, male. Involves an outlay of about £1200 for the course, flights, accommodation on a 7 day holiday.
Don't have much to work with in terms of budget. Have fully optimised website though.
Ideas please?!?!

I've had 15years running a business and helping companies promote them selves. I'd suggest if your website is sticky enough and search engine friendly that you invest in some pay per click ads (you can start stop up to the minute and set a budget) for keywords the people would search for your product.

Mailers need to be done well and memorable for them to work. A good idea I'll throw in for free........ find a toy parachute manufacturer online and strike a deal with them. (the kind of toy that boys had - small plastic parachute with a little man hanging under. They do still make them.) get some of those and screen print your website, tel no on the parachute. Send them out to offices..... maximum exposure as there thrown around the room. They will be kept and if not they will at least remember them when you call!

Good luck and if you need any help give me a shout..... ian@hbworld.com.

You don't say what your budget is, or give your web address, but assuming your website is good (i.e 'sells' the product) then it would be a case of producing some kind of promotional material and making the call to action 'visit my website for more info...'.

Since you are offering a 'premium' product, you need your marketing literature to reflect this quality (without costing the earth!) so it can be worth investing a bit more in design, and targeting a slightly smaller audience.

Your market will be quite niche anyway, so if you could find a way to obtain details of potential clients, a one piece mailer would work well. Then you could follow that up with a phone call/email to check the recieved it and see what they thought about it.

You can contact me at rachel.nicholson@printing.com if you want, I may be able to help you with what I've suggested above.

Given your target market I'd find the next big sporting event..I'd assume Soccer/Football..(sorry I'm Canadian and that's what we call it). Have your pilot do a fly over, or as close to it as national security now allows, with a banner advertising the business and/or website and then hire some students to stand outside the stadium and hand out leaflets to the crowd after the game. (I'd suggest a skydiving demonstration but most cities have by-laws about that and the military doesn't find it as funny as they used to.

Sky writing and balloon advertising will be a good idea. Pickup and drop and evening get togethers might work. Locating training in scenic areas might work to have good view of the drop area in the air, less hazardous though.

Give it away!
Find publications, radio stations and other media that appeal to your target audience. Then call and tell them what you've got and see if they have any promotional events that might work well with it.
Get a daring reporter to go through your program and write about it.

You could try ebay. They really sell everything on there. Costs are low to advertise.
