No prep time? Well, that makes it tough...
As a last resort, simmer a pot of water with some cinnamon sticks, a couple cardamom pods, and some cloves. If you don't mind the waste you can sub apple juice for the water. It will smell great and warm, but there unfortunatly won't be anything to eat afterwards.
If you have some frozen pie crusts and a can of pie filling, make up a quick pie. Any baked dessert will smell great, especially since it is winter.

I have a Realtor friend that told me that a sure way to make a home more appealing to buyers is to ake an apple.
It only takes a few minutes in the microwave.
Take one apple, cut a cone shaped void in the top of the apple. In the opening you made place a mixture of brown sugar and Cinnamon. Pack it in there very firmly. Place the apple on a microwave safe plate, ans microwave it for about two to three minutes (or at least until the brown sugar mixture liquefies) Take the apple out of the microwave, and place it somewhere in the kitchen. The aroma will fill the house with an inviting scent of apple pie.
They say it works every time. I hope it works for you!

Anything with a mulled cider or apple pie smell. The hint of cinnamon (not alone) but mixed with pumpkin, apple or cloves makes for a homey smell. A mulled cider can simmer on the stove and can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic when served but can continue to simmer very low and keep the smell going without worry of it getting cold or burning. Lots of companies have mulling packets so you just have to buy some cider at any local place. Don't skimp on the good cider though, it's worth the price difference

here is an idea...
At Wal-Mart you can get air fresheners that stick on to your furnace filter. They are in with the filters in the hardware section and cost about 2 dollars. If you live in warm climate then use Glade scented candles.

problematical. despite the fact that, GOR, first of all permit me applaud your neighbourly concern. could that extra human beings took this form of close pastime in the wellbeing of our fellow homeowners. What i think of you'll be able to desire to do in this occasion is kindle your neighbour's instinctive opt to "save up with the Joneses"; make your self a smart bread in effective condition and parade around the community showing it off; paste a slice of bread over another brick on your place to create a stylish checker board effect; bypass away slices of bread in sparkling sight on the lower back seat of your automobile. etc. Your neighbour will quickly be scurrying to the food market, my chum. sturdy success!

Baked apples with cinnamon and cinnamon buns baking in the oven.
Actually the cinnamon bun scent is the best.
I always throw some baking apples and bread dough in my oven when I sell homes.
