Yes, to be drafted is a compelling situation. To dodge the draft, well the upper-class and the elitist found a way out of answering the nation's call to arms. Hell, this country should have never dissolved the draft. We grown soft and no one wants to serve. I served for six years and it was the best time of my life, as a volunteer. To fight in Iraq, well it is a dicey situation-but with a draft in place-there's no choice in the matter. You kill or be killed or you dodge and hold anti-war protest rallies.

Well, i see this is a Biased question. But, do to my good nature. I will accept defeat and answer this:

As a Veteran of both Iraqi Freedom and the War in Afghanistan. I can honestly. YES!!!! I would go back if called upon...You people never quit amazing me in your political knowledge and the inter-workings of world politics. The blinders have you seeing just the small picture. The News media is not always right. Nor is the speeches and talks given by our government.

The Right thing is Simple: You as a able American are honor bound by the Constitution of the USA to uphold the traditions and laws said within. It matters not one bit if you agree or not. The people vote in the leaders of this country on good findings and values. if that was not the case then we would have a King or Queen or dictator or any other form of govt.

But, our forefathers the ones that bled and died to give the freedoms you. Deserve better than your petty excuse over the Perfect world. The world will never be perfect. I have no use for people that are prepared to live in freedom but not willing to sacrifice for it.

I for one would put my life on the line in a heartbeat, a NY second, etc etc. If it meant the USA would stand as a free nation for another year.

Go ahead and bear the fruits of the soldiers fighting. Seek your future in all its glory, but know this: Americas freedom was not earned by people who fail to sacrifice

Thanks

Id go in a heartbeat....

How can going to Iraq to take out a dictator that murders members of his own family, fashioned the Baath party after Nazi Germany, and butchered helpless civilians with poison gas be an unjust cause???

In this case the troops may need people to urge the govt to get serious re: the enemy. What's scary is the lack of oversight in the plight of the ground crew. It's so unjust sending our troops to do battle with widespread guerrilla forces w/o sufficient back-up & arms. They are valiant individuals but are the brunt of govt negligence and can't win as is. I can't believe it's taking so many years and lives to figure out they need alot more back-up to win this vital cause.

Hmmm, let's see. Go to Iraq and risk life and limb, so that some ****** politicians can spout how they're "doing the right thing". I don't think so.

If this country is ever attacked by an invading force, I will be there to defend our country. Yet, I'm not putting my life on the line for some stupid politician to pad his resume.

Yes, I'd have fought. There are things worth fighting and dying for!
