I always let my turkey thaw for three days in the bottom shelf of my refrigerator. Good luck on yours! I decided to buy a prefried turkey this year.

It's safer to thaw a turkey in the frig, following the directions including in the packaging of the turkey.

I estimate 2-3 days in the frig.

To properly thaw a turkey, you should allow at least 30 minutes per pound. Also, if you are thawing the turkey in water, you should change the water about every hour or so to prevent bacteria build-up.

So, you will need at least 9 hours to thaw that 18 pound turkey.

Good luck!
