Not really! If you can handle it and respect each other!

It really depends on the individual.

For some people race and religion play major roles with who they want to be with. It doesn't make them racist or close-minded individuals, it's just their preference. Nothing is wrong with having a preference...you make that choice.

I know there's this rose-colored "o, it doesn't matter" nor "should it matter point of view" but, that doesn't work for everyone nor should it be forced on anyone. Fact is religion plays a role in a lot of peoples lives. Those that are strong in their beliefs would find it difficult dating someone that has a different mindset. If you are a true believer in your faith, I'm sorry, but you're not going to be okay with someone who has different religious beliefs nor will you just accept them converting. If someone doesn't want to date someone of a different race, so what! What's the big deal? It's there loss. If they don't want to do it, that's their preference. You can't force your preference on others nor should you try.

Myself, I prefer dating black christian women, but I don't see anything wrong with dating a white/asian muslim/catholic/atheist. I have preferences and I know what works for me.

race shnould make no differeence at all but if two people of different races/cultures enter a long term relationship there will be issues that need to be discussed particularly if there ar eany plans to have children
attitudes towards what is expected of men/women in a relation can vary considerably between races if these issues are not discussed problmes can arise

with rligion it is much harder for two people of different religions to have a long term serious relationship as religion is based on beliefs and lifestyle

i also think i should point out that the way you have worded your question could easily offend many catholics as you indicate they are are not christian they are a demonination of christianity like methodist baptist and anglican not a seperate religion

Absolutely, because sooner or later , it will come up. Everyone should consider how important the "connection" will be when there are disagreements in religion. It may not seem important now , but what if you decide to have kids someday? Then you have to agree what faith to teach them. On race, I don't think it is an issue if both are prepared to deal with the negative world views on mixing races. If you are tough and can deal with adversity you will likely encounter (sometimes even from family and friends) then go for it.

To be perfecty honest with you. It really does make a difference.

It won't when you're first dating and things are going good because you're just excited about the new love you found but when you guys decide get married or if you do decide to get married, religion will play a big part in your lives UNLESS you don't attend church and won't be raising your children in that kind of enviroment. BUT let's say you do go to church and one of you are christian and then the other is catholic - what happens???, where do the kids go?? It will cause lots of fights and promblems between you two.

Now this is just my opinion - you don't have to accept anything I'm saying. But the only reason why I'm saying this is because I've lived it and dealt with it and HATED IT!

Good luck to you - I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you.

When you meet, probably not. But after, religion can be a major problem. You both need to agree. Race... we are all human, I don't have a problem wit it, but a lot of people still do.

None of those things should matter as long as the two of you understand your differences and respect each others choices. Then don't worry about it!

No they shouldn't but it's never that simple.
Older generations (parents, grandparents) see things a bit differently.
One day we'll get a world where it makes no difference. Fingers crossed!
