you can shoot slugs only if you have an improved cylinder choke or a cylinder choke . modified chokes are a little tight to shoot slugs with and DO NOT shoot slugs from full chokes the barrel might split.

sure as long as it dont have a damascus{ twisted steel barrel} really dont think ithica was around back then though ,and as long as where the barrel and reciever meet are tight it should work. better yet ask anybody that shoots to look at the gun for you.take it to a store that sells guns or ammo they will also tell you.You probaly wont want to shoot 3inch shells or the new sabots out of it but regular 23/4 inch shells should work fine. good luck, Mike also the choke really dont matter or there would have been many law suits filed sice the inseption of the gun....its a sellers ploy,I used to work at ***** SPORTING GOODS , man I liked that job.....

bring it to a reputable gunsmith and ask him this question... best to have it evaluated by a pro... even if this gun was designed to handle slugs, if it is an older gun, it may not be able to handle the higher chamber pressures... not worth loosing the side of your head over...

Maybe. If, I remember correct they say it need a Modified Choke. If, it Full Choke you may want to ask a Gunsmith, if, no one know for sure.
