God does not need praise, he is worthy of it. God does not need reassured, he wants you to be reassured through your praise. Praising God is uplifting...satisfying. I am sorry you have not experienced that. I pray you will someday.*

Maybe the reason is because he loves us so so so much that he sent his only son to go through all that torture so that our sins can be forgiven. I think God does want to see us living out our lives doing cool stuff, and he loves our suprises. If it was not for him we wouldn't even be here to begin with. I think he just wants us to believe in him and try to live by his words of the bible. I don't think he expects praise 24/7 but I don't understand how anyone would not want to praise him. I know I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not believe for one single minute that God needs praise for reassurance. He is quit assured the way it is. God is not insecure either, and no I never worry about what's is store for us. God is not paranoid needing reassureance constantly, where did you ever come up with that anyway?

Are you really asking?
I mean, are you really comparing praising someone for cleaning off the ring out of the bathtub and praising the creator of all things seen and unseen?
This is how it works. God loves you. God also created you, and gave you everything good you have. You are alive because it is his will that you be alive. You can either look at the gift of life as nothing but a thing and refuse to give thanks to the giver, or you can open your eyes and see that it is nothing that anybody, anywhere could have provided you anything like, except God.
If you do not acknowledge God, God lets you be. He will allow you to pridefully assert that you don't need him; that he is an insecure fool; and that he doesn't deserve even a simple acknowledgement. In allowing you to do this, he will stay distant from your life--because you don't want him near it. God is respectful that way. He honors your choice to hate him more than he needs to exert his will into your choices.
The thing you miss, though, is this: God pours out blessings upon the lives of those who acknowledge him. This is because he waits for the love he has for you to be reciprocated before he enters your life. That is, the creator of all things good WAITS for measly YOU. Imagine that.
Because love that is not returned sits there and loves, but its full power is unleashed. Have you ever loved someone who didn't love you back? Do you know what that's like? You felt you had things to give your beloved, but he or she wanted nothing to do with you, and so your gifts were just sitting on a shelf--unreleased into the life of your beloved because he or she didn't want you.
Divine love is much greater and much more powerful than human love--and divine gifts are massive in comparison.
And still the principle is the same. Love that is not returned doesn't do anything else. It still loves, but it lays in wait.
This isn't insecurity on God's part. It is called honor and respect. That is, he who loves you honors and respects you, though you call him a fool.

God didn't create us because he wanted to be reminded that, "Oh, I'm great! I'm all powerful." The Bible states that he is our father. He created us because he was lonely. He wanted someone who, of their own free will, would say, "I love you." Just like with your own children. I don't know if you have kids or not, but I had children because I wanted a special relationship. I wanted to experience unconditional love. Yeah sure, there was the possibility that my children would turn against me, but I am doing and will do the best that I can do to love them, to teach them the right way to go. Just like God has done with us. He can't run our lives, or else we wouldn't have free will. He can't help it that people have turned away from him. Give him a break. Look at what he created. He DESERVES praise. We humans are the ones who screwed that up.

Interesting...
'God' doesn't exactly beg for praise, man only gives it to 'God'.
Fools only 'worship' 'God' because they are disillusioned to actually see the truth in what they call the 'truth'.
God is not a being. Giving praise to nothing gives you nothing. Giving praise to yourself gives you everything.
So many people, everyone in fact, has no idea, because it is just an idea. No proof, no reason, just something to do really.
People are insecure, therefore 'God' is insecure. If we are something, 'God' is that same thing. If 'God' is something, than so are we.

The Bible doesn't say anywhere God NEEDS praise. He commands it. There is a difference. God is to be praised because he is a being of infinite value and worth. Its not as you said, "For no apparent reason". He deserves praise because he is so awesome.
Oh yeah, there are some things God can do that we cannot by virtue of his perfect existence and our fallen finite existence. For one thing it is a sign of selfishness when people ask for praise or look for praise or otherwise live life to get praise because it means they think more highly of themselves than they are actually worth. Whereas it is perfecty right for God to expect everyone to praise him, it is not selfish because everything is supposed to revolve around perfect goodness.
All of us praise something. We all praise the things that we love. We get a new flat screen HD tv and we go tell all our friends how awesome the tv is. We get a new car we go SHOW all our friends how cool it is. But most humankind will not praise God because we hate him. We hate him because he demands that we hold Him at the center of our life, that he be our greatest love. We want to be our own greatest love. We want to put ourselves at the center of our life to our own peril since we have proven incapable of ruling the world or ourselves. I will never understand why people would prefer to praise thge mudpie of self when they have the gourmet feast of a perfectly good, just, loving God of infinite worth graceously providing everyone a limited amount of time to recognize who he is.

Maybe the whole praise thing is so people don't forget who God is. And maybe people praise God so they feel safe and secure in their spirituality. I think you don't have to sing or go to church to praise God, you can praise God sitting around watching TV or being sontaneous and I think the best method of praise is to just be yourself because that's all God wants. You can do cool and new stuff and still praise your Higher Power.

A lot of people here insist that God doesn't need praise, yet God absolutely demands it. From everyone. Or else.
Sounds incredibly insecure to me. And undeserving of praise.
I mean, if he's omnipotent, doesn't he already know your mind about him? So why bother demanding praise?

i in my view hate this twenty first century hip approaches of praising God, it is going against your individual ideals. God is a being outdoors time itself. He does not substitute his alternatives very actual with your substitute of society. How he wanted to be praised as quickly as is how he'd continually prefer to be praised. i'm an Atheist, yet a minimum of a few Christians stick extra by making use of their ideals.

I can't remember God ever saying that He needed praise. I praise Him because He is worthy of praise. Its my way of saying thank you for everything He has done in my life.
