because, except for in recent times, jews have always been able to read hebrew. we don't rely on english translations, especially english translations by christian leaders with an agenda who have so obviously deliberately mistranslated and distorted the hebrew scriptures in order to make jesus "fit" into the hebrew bible that jews can't help but laugh

There are several possibilities why 'Jews' have not accepted the fulfillment of prophecies; asserted by the question. I will touch on one that has apparently not been addressed yet.
The Jews were given the '2 or more witnesses' principle (Deut. 10-20, about three times). Jesus, (and later Paul), gave Christians the same principle (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1) however, many 'Christians' in this country presently are not applying that principle (Combined with 2 Tim. 3:16-17). If that 'principle' was applied, many more people in this country would realize the scriptural old testament is the law of Moses not Genesis-Malachi.
So why should the Jews listen to most Christians in the U.S. presently on other issues???

Because some of the prophecies of the Old Testement have not been realized. A big one is that the messiah will come when there is peace in the world and we know that this has never happened. Plus, Jews have been around since the inception of Jesus, there were people who just didn't buy into his being the messiah, they passed on their beliefs, etc. Thats why.
btw, I'm an atheist, a former jew, so I am sure there are more informed answers than this.... just needed to give my two cents.

It dosent fit that's all.
Jews have a different understanding of what Prophecy is. To us it is if the event in question transpires not if a person can fit into unrelated biblical verses.
To claim that Jesus is some how the messiah based on Issiah's suffering servant dose not fit into a Jewish mind because nowhere in that section dose Issiah say that he is talking about the Messiah!
Though it dose say that the Messiah will bring peace on earth and a knowledge of G-d to all. I think we all know that has not happened.

Thats a good question. I know some Jews who know the NT better than most xtians and they dont believe it simply because they dont see where anything about him lines up with the concept of the messiah that they know from the OT. Lets face it, the entire concept of "messiah" was developed by Jews based on their understanding of the OT. So to say they are blind and dont understand their own concept is just idiotic.

STONE ROLLED, who says 90% of Jews turn to Christianity after reading the Bible? What bollocks, a LOT more than that know what theyre missing and DONT WANT IT.
They don't believe it because the Messiah was not meant to be the kind of man Jesus was, he was meant to be a political-type leader and win wars etc. (I think, sorry jews if I got this wrong!)
Plus, as my jewish friend said: Jews accept the messiah has not yet come. Christians said 'sure he came, he just needs to come back another time' - WHAT?! things were meant to be fulfilled and resolved when the messiah came, they haven't been.

One person said it good, cause of the Jewish religious leaders. Actually, when Jesus was on earth, the crowds were astounded at his teaching and the miracles, but the fact that he wouldn't let them crown him King, and with the deception of the Pharisees and the chief priests, most Jews rejected him. To this day, most of them are looking to a different Messiah to still come or a Messianic period. They never realized that hundreds of Hebrew prophecies applied to Jesus such as him riding on a donkey at Zechariah 9; 9

There are 119 distinct prophesies there Messiah must fufill. I think its mostly they don't know what/want to look for him. These prophesies are spread out through the entire old testament so it makes it kind of hard to find and to compile together for the average Jew.
http://www.teachinghearts.org/dre03propchristnotes.html summarizes the messianic prophesies.

I agree with you, Jews as a whole have not bought into Christian theology. This was prophesized by God way back in Ezekiel and taught that the Jews would not believe when the Messiah came and that they would first return to their land in unbleief but will ultimately see that Christ is the Messiah and in one day they will turn to Him, but that is still future.
Romans 11:25 "...a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB." 27 "THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."
