Hi I straighten my hair everyday and have began to notice the effect it is causing on my hair. So I decided that I would straighten my hair every couple of days because when you are 15 and at school straightened hair is a must. Anyway to do this I can not wash my hair every day however even if I dn't was it for 1day my hair appears greasy. So I was wondering how I could combat this. Thankyou

p.s Do any of you's wash your hair every couple of days because if you put water on your hair you will have to straighten it.

You can always "dry shampoo" your hair using baby powder or talc. Fluff the powder through your dry hair, concentrating near the scalp, since that's where the oil comes from. Wait a little bit and then, using your hands, fluff up your hair to remove what powder you can. Either comb or brush out the rest. The powder absorbs the oil and takes it with it when you comb it out.

If your hair appears greasy then you probably should wash it everyday or check out the degreasing powders made by bumble and bumble.

I only wash my hair about every 4 days, sometimes more or less it depends but my hair doesn't look greasy it is very thick and stays dry. Usually on my last day before washing, I take a curing iron and make waves (which are in as long as they are subtle and shiny-not frizzy) or you could do a half up do to mask some of the shine in your hair..as long as it isnt stinky, cause if it is just suck it up and wash it.

Follow these steps for your straightening...

I have very puffy..thick..fizzy wavy hair.

BEWARE of salons "thinning" your hair. Thinning may make your hair thinner but many salons do not under stand that if you hair is puffy and frizzy thinning it makes it more light weight and makes it appear bigger. Also the shorter the cut..the more volume you achieve. So your best bet would be to grow your hair long, add some LONG layers if you want layers..do not thin it. The longer it is, it will weigh itself down.

Then, minimize the amount you wash your hair..every three days or so. Take the time to blow dry in small sections pulling tight with a ceramic round brush or a paddle brush ( I use both for different parts of my head) then go over each piece with a straighteining iron that should smooth out all the frizz.

I promise this works. If my hair can look "normal" so can yours. It is time consuming but once you get the hang of it, its not so bad.

I use to straighten my hair everyday and I stopped because it really does damage your hair. Now I wash my hair every 2 days and straighten it. Also when you wash your hair dry to use conditioner only on the ends of your hair, it helps to prevent your hair from getting too greasy.

you don't need to wash it everyday. try changing shampoo that will help like since you have hair that gets oily fast, then don't use moisturizing shampoo. the days you don't straighten your hair, put it up.
