My hair is pretty 'fried' at the moment (lousy salon experience; long story). It's slightly wavy, shoulder length, and quite fine...

...so, ideally, nothing that'll weigh it down too much. I'm not looking for much by way of a styling product; it doesn't have to have 'hold.'

And I hate stuff that's sticky.

Any suggestions for something easy to use to make it look a bit less frizzy, dried out, etc?

Since your hair is thin- I would go with a light weight leave in volumizing foam...

It will condition and tame flyaways and frizz without weighing your hair down and will possibly give you some volume..

It's not sticky, they usually smell really good and also protect your hair from the cold weather dry out you could experience soon. Whether you wear your hair natural and wavy or blow dry it straight this will make your hair appear more healthy and less scraggly.

My bff swears by the one that is made by Dove so try it out!!!

Goodluck!

you could try a 3-5 minute conditioner/hair mask. you can buy them in the conditioner shelf at the supermarket, either in sachets for the mask or whole bottles for the conditioner. they're more intensive than normal conditioner, i tend to use a normal conditioner every time i wash my hair and then use 3-minute conditioner after that twice a week. i have quite dry/damaged/coloured hair and this works for me. usually you rinse the product out (unless you buy a specific leave-in one) so it doesn't make your hair all sticky.
Try any stuff by Aussie (i use 3 minute miracle). I also use one by VO5 called "3-minute instant rescue moisture soak".
If this doesn't work you can dry rubbing a little bit of serum into your hair after washing, but you have to remember a little goes a long way or you will get sticky. I use one by Schwarzkopf "Supersoft frizz-control serum".
If you don't want to buy anything new you can try your own 5 minute conditioner by leaving your conditoner on and then wrapping your hair in a warmed-up towel (i actually warm a clean towel in the microwave) for 5 minutes.

Good luck with that, you'll be silky soft in no time :)

To start with, you'll need to shampoo with a gentle shampoo and then condition your hair. When mine gets fried for whatever reason, I use Aussie Three Minute Miracle. It can keep your hair from breaking off in your hand. Wash your hair, gently towel dry it, and then put on the Three Minute Miracle. Put a plastic bag on your hair and leave it on while you do some house work or whatever. The heat of your body will help the conditioner penetrate your hair and give you a deep conditioning.

Try the Nioxin line - they have an entire sub-line of products for people with fine hair AND for when it's signficantly damaged. It's a little pricey but I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it (I worked for a beauty store/salon) and a lot of older woman who had just fried their hair and was really thin loved the Nioxin products. Maybe give it a go?!

I would get a hair cut first, to get rid of the fried ends. Then use a light but effective moisturizing conditioner (ask someone at a beauty supply store). Once a week, maybe overnight, I would a do a deep moisturizing mask--it only takes a few minutes to do.

good luck!

Use the Joico line of hair products available at salons. K-pak is the ultimate repair shampoo in the line. It has hydrolized human hair protein which helps repair and improve the hair's texture and appearance drastically. Plus it smells great.
