i have a golden retriever thats been having trouble with one eye, red, blurry. This only occurs at night. once i bring her in it gets better. i had her to the vet they just gave me an inflammatory for her for redness told me i might need to take her to an opthalmologist. was just curious what the symptoms are and if this could be it. i thot maybe it cud be allergies.

I have a weimaraner who has it.
He is now blind in both eyes.
It had nothing to do with redness or swelling or anything like htat.
It has to do with the veins and blood supply to the retnial tissue in the back of the eye.
There is no cure for it and they will eventually go blind from it.
You should take your dog to an opthalmoligist to have them check to see what is wrong. But it sounds like your dog may have allergies.
My dog had no symptoms. We noticed he spooked from his own shadow when out hunting. He had trouble finding the hunting dummy when we were playing fetch. He stoped chasing the laser poiner dot on the floor. He couuld no longer see anything.
He still hunts but we are very careful where we take him to hunt and he still finds birds and loves to hunt. He is a great dog even blind.
