i am 25 now and recently (1 yr ago) ended a 6 yr relationship with my "first love." i believed he was the man i was going to marry. we met on a blind date and connected really quickly. our relationship was not easy by any means, it was a first for both of us. but we managed to make it work for 6 yrs. finally towards the end of the relationship i realized i wasn't truly happy and he seemed not to care much, so i called it quits. it was the hardest, saddest, and most heartbreaking thing i can ever imagine going through. after 1 month of being broken up and not speaking he called me and we had a wonderful conversation. he told me he realized how lucky he was to have someone like me and that he also realized how much he loved me. he wanted to marry me and all the fluffy stuff. i told him i will always love him but our time had passed and i have moved on. we haven't talked since. the one thing i am happy about is the last words we said to each other were i love you.

yuk no. Gosh I fell in love with this lad who was a few years old than me and we were together for quite a while, but in the end it finished and i always thought i would love him, have a place in my heart for hi, but nowadays I dont even think about him, eh was a bit of a **** to me and i never thought anyone would be any better but I was totally wrong. And now funny things is he is not half as good looking as he was then and I see him and think gosh i must have been mad!! I also thought I was totally in love with him but when you do fall in love you realise it was just a huge crush and never really love.

First love is always special and will always have a place in your heart as it's the first time you experience all the feelings and emotions that come with being in love and so you're unlikely to forget the person or the experience.

my mother was high school sweat hearts with my dad he was her first and vice versa, after highschool, they split up, they both found outher spouces but since then there were divorces. My parents ran into eachother, un planned, and now they are happily married!!
they both loved the other person they were with, but felt more for eachother. So yes i believe that you first "love " will always "own" a part of your heart.

i can honestly say my first true love was the most intense. i've never loved any other man in the same way ( not even my hubby ). i regularly see my first love and time has not been kind to him ( he looks dog rough in fact) and although there is definitely no romantic feelings there anymore i will always consider him my true love.
