Lightheadedness, headaches and dizziness are all side effects. For the first couple of weeks after taking it I also had an upset stomach and felt really jittery. I lost all interest in sex and felt quite 'spaced out' a lot of the time, and separated from what was going on around me. Of course some of this is symptomatic of depression too. Word of warning about the alcohol - its a depressant so will counteract the prozac. If you must drink try to keep it to a minimum, but the safest bet is to avoid it completely.

Prozac sent me a bit crazy (crazier) for the first month or so of taking it. I was hyper in the morning and then really sleepy in the afternoon. It absolutely effected my reaction to alcohol and also wiped out my sex drive.
My guess is what you are experiencing is a side effect, so I wouldn't worry too much. But pop in to a pharmacist as they will be able to reassure you.
Well done for getting help BTW and good luck - it worked for me. I was on it for about a year and then felt strong enough to come off it with counselling. Now I'm stronger than I have ever been and very pleased I took it.
Good luck!

The really bad side effects are not properly touted.
Its agitation. Makes you feel like your late for an important appointment, and you cannot crawl out of your skin to get there.
That is the real cause of violence and suicide from prozac, zoloft and all that other crap. If you don't experience it, then your lucky, if you do, and realize that the drug is the cause, then you stop, if you are allowed to. If your a child they won't let you stop and you turn monster.

Lightheadedness is a common side effect of most anti-depressants. So is the kind of boozy affect. Especially if you're new to the drug or if you've recently changed your dosages (or if you've skipped a few doses).

This tells you the side effects that you should and shouldn't be worried about. You're fine. It sucks for a while, but you're fine. The main side effect you can really expect is loss of libido.
Good luck!

Please read " let them eat prozac" by David Healy. Prozac CAN work wonders, but it can also do the opposite. Use your computer to read about it, and make an informed decision about it. Personally, my best friend says it was the best thing that happened to her, but on the other hand I hate the drug with a passion.
