If the Masseur owns their service/business "nothing" should be expected.

If they are working for a spa your paid fee should also include gratuity. Doctors office- same thing nothing.

If massage schools offer student massages to the public, then you can give a tip or donation....

I agree with the fact that you shouldn't have to tip the masseuse. It is a professional job and most spas have a no tip policy. I mean after a great message you don't want to stress yourself by thinking did I give to much or to little. To be safe though if you are going to tip. Tip as you would in a restaurant. 15%-20% depending on the quality of the message.

I think it really depends on how satisfied you are. The normal or the average is around 15%....BUT what if you are not satisfied? Why would you tip that amount. On the other hand if you loved it and have any intentions on going back tip higher than usual. This will let the masseuse know that you really liked the massage....PLUS depending on how good you tip it can be a perk to yourself on getting a next appointment!

it depends on how good the massage was, and how much you paid for it. If it was relatively cheap...then you should tip like $15 in my book. My mother in law is a masseuse and she charges low because she is too nice to charge higher. She is extremely gratefull when they tip high though.

I would thinkg 15-20%, however check with the spa you're getting the massage at.

I go for massages regularly at a spa/salon that specifies that they are a no-tipping salon/spa.

Nothing.

My husband is taking classes in massage therapy, and the opinion in the textbooks (and among the field's practitioners) is "this is a professional service".

Would you tip your nurse practitioner, or your physical therapist?
