Many people dislike the fact that religions have been killing each other over what god to believe in. I say, let them kill each other. Its survival of the fittest, the dumb ones die and the smart ones stay.

That is a cold view of life and human spirituality.

Would it not be better to create an environment where the necessity for religious war, and war in general, was no longer needed? This certainly is a Utopian thought and construct but I do think we should strive for that unreachable bar. It is in the act of "doing" that we truly express our basic humanity.

I don't think u would believe it was survival of the fittest if men came in your home while your sleeping, dragged you outside and then tortured you before your killed.
Many innocents have been slaughtered throughout the ages cause of rumors, ethnicity, or being of a different religion.
At John 16; 2 Jesus told his followers that a time would come when men would kill them and think they had done a service for God.
This is a sad fact of history, events like the crusades, inquisition, 30 years war, and the holocaust. These are not things we should be apathetic about.

Problem is the killing never stops. When someone is killed, other people remember, and try to get revenge. That is part of what is happening now between Israel and the Arabs.

But remember this, the vast majority of wars are fought over national security and resources, not religion. For example, the U.S. HAS NEVER fought a war over religion.

How can people who participate in wars of any kind, whether in the name of religion or otherwise, call themselves religious? They take the chance of not only killing innocent men, women, and children, but even those of their own faith.
Christians are to be peaceable with all men, are to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. The only warfare we wage is against Satan and his demons. Also we take the same stand as the apostles did--"we must obey God as ruler, rather than men" (ACTS 5:29) If any government demand that we go to war, we must refuse.

I wish it were that simple. War has usually been about wealth and power. Who has it, who wants it, who has the strength to keep it? In Iraq, it looks like it's about religion. It's actually about the second-largest oil reserves on the planet.Who has it, who has the technology to get it out of the ground and ship it to the people who need it, or who (if they gain control of it) will plug the wells and sit on it until the price goes out of sight. Take a second look at history with this in mind. It's about wealth and power.

Wars are about power and control over the people, or about land, and sometimes they use religion as the excuse for the war.

That's why the Jews are still around, as well as the Christians. The Jews have about 1,000 years on us though. But we've got about 500 on the Muslims. God is not through with the Jews yet, that's why they're still around.
