Hey there! Im going to PR in about a week to surf and visit 2 of my buddies foer 5 days, but they dont have a car. They have a friend that might be able to pick me up from SJ airport but it doesnt sound promising. They live in Rincon. I couldnt get a ticket to Auguadilla airport. Whats the best way for me to get to Rincon at 10pm at night? I know the bus stay in town mostly and the train is only 11 miles long. Do cabs go that far? Am I better off renting a car for a day? I didnt plan on renting a car. Im on a budget. Advice?

I am Canadian and I rent a car for 3 weeks and I am just back. Of course you can rent a car for $30/day for 5 days. But to avoid an additional insurance of about $15/day, you need to use your credit card and be already completely insured with your own car and be older than 25. P.R. is fabulous to visit, you should at least spend the time to travel to some interior hilly roads, visit some cities and other beaches. Forget 1 min. for 1 mile in P.R., .... tortuous roads, dense traffic, red lights ..., except the toll roads. If you are adventurous ... don't forget a map, otherwise you will be quickly lost.

Buy the ticket that goes to Aguadilla. San Juan airport is 3 hrs away from Rincon. It will cost you an arm and a leg via taxi. There are NO buses nor trains that will take you to Ricnon from san juan. your better off renting a car. if you decide to travel via san juan take the expressway # 22 all the way to Hatillo. then take the # 2 road to aguadilla. (1 hr ride). Best advice take the plane to Aguadilla and rent a car to go to Rincon (35 min ride).

Yes..You are better off renting a car. This company has very Good prices and you can pick up at San Juan airport and Drop it off (with milage charge) at Aguadilla.

A taxi at that time of the night will charge you more than the car rental.

Try also Charlie rent a car...

Enjoy Puerto Rico

You are better of renting the car for one day and returning it in the Aguadilla area. You could take a taxi but it going to cost you more than a day of rental car.
Enjoy PR....I used to surf in Rinicon....be safe and have fun.
