I don't get them very often but when I do it is awful... my husband gives me Excedrin Migraine and it is wonderful... I love the stuff. And it works fast for me so maybe you could try that. They do say that caffeine helps migraines also, and the excedrine migraine has that in it. Good luck to you and I hope that she gets to feeling better very soon. :O)

If her migraine is that bad, then she should probably go to the emergency room and/or go to her doctor. If her face is swollen, chances are she may have a sinus infection. Faces do not swell from a Migraine alone. She is going to need some medication for the nausea and vomiting as well as something to ease the Migraine itself. Good luck. Hope she feels better real soon.

I'm certainly not a doctor but my first suggestion would be give her a cold pack or ice to put on her head it helps me. Then make her lay down in a very dark room with no noise of any kind. If this does not help her after a half hour or so then I suggest getting her to a doctor immediately. I have never heard of the face swelling due to a migraine and I have had them all of my life.

Migraine + Vomiting -> you should take her to an emergency department. If your family doctor has a small treatment room sometimes they will see emergencies and deal with this sort of thing, but usually the vomiting makes it hard for you to give her any sort of medicine at home.
Call an ambulance and get her to a hospital (especially if the face swelling is interfereing with her breathing!)

You should probably take her to a doctor. If she gets bad migraines, she may need prescription medications.
Also, you say her face is swollen...that sounds kind of serious. That doesn't sound like something that normally happens with migraines. She should probably see a doctor right away! I could be an emergency.

If she has a migraine the best thing for her to do is go into a room lie down with a either a warm or cold washcloth on her head make it as dark and as quiet as possible and let her sleep it off. If she gets them often I would see a Dr. about getting a rx for Immitrex

The swollen face is a sure sign of an allergic reaction. I would take her to the emergency room. Especially since she can't hold down any meds.
