People are perverse. The Rabbi's studied the Torah and argued about what it all meant, these were put in The Talmud. For instance, where the Torah simply said not to work on the Sabbath, the rabbi's determined how much walking you could do before it became work, and a whole load of other things you could and couldn't do. So, by Jesus' time, what was simply a way to make people take at least 1 days break in the working week became a burden.
The same thing happened with The New Testament. People added to what was written. So, from a group of people that simply met in one another's houses, you had churches and cathedrals and a professional clergy complete with robes and so forth. You had one person at the top whose views were considered infallible, even when they directly opposed scripture, and you had a people who could not read scripture for themselves, but had to have it interpreted by the clergy. So people were not allowed to think for themselves.
You also had some peculiar logic which seemed to justify torture and war, which was so remote from Jesus' teaching it . It went like this:-
1) The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to go to hell
2) We must show our love for people by saving them from going to hell
3) Whatever we do to them, hell is worse
4) Therefore, we can show our love by torturing people until they believe
5) If they die without believing, that is their choice and it is left to God
I mean, how absurd is THAT!!! That was the logic of the crusades and inquisition. That is why heretics were burnt. It is all insane and is totally against the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. It is used today in churches that practise "heavy shepherding," that is, where a leader practically rules the lives of those under him. It is also used where a "Christian" parent beats children in order to "save" them.

Its too clear cut to say if it is fact or fantasy. Personally i would never say it was factual but to call it fantasy is not exacttly true. If there is belief in something this removes it away from fantasy for the believers it is not fantasy at all therefore cannot be held as purely fantasy by the world. Religion i believe is a mechanism set up by humans to remove fears and to anwser questions that we can't it creates a sociological tool in which people can be guided as with our development of intelligence we need this guidance.
Those who say true Christianity hasnt caused deaths evidently havent seen the information on "holy war " not saying this is a bad thing just saying it happened. The only branch of christianity that doesnt cause death and wars is quakers as they are pacifists
The bible is the word of God as is the Qu'ran etc etc ... how can we be sure that any of these are from god. Within them are simple rules that are needed for a society to work, as well as some power thrown in so people dont get to many ideas about going of these guidelines. And hope so that their life isnt worthless. Anyone could pick these ideas out of the air, further more we dont know that these people didnt communicate nor do we know that it was several people and not just one.

No matter how sure we are, there will be no question about which religion is right after we die. Maybe Christianity is right. Maybe atheism is right. Maybe none of us know the right God, and each day we just make God madder and madder (Simpson's quote).
There have been wars and deaths over religion because of either corruption in the person or ignorance, or the religion was simply warlike in the first place. Religion just gives people an excuse to misuse power. If someone has power, they could corrupt that power and say "I am in charge, so this is what we do...." but if a corrupt person brings religion into the equation, they add, "I am in charge, and God commanded me to do this..."
All unrestrained power is dangerous, but when someone claims that their power comes from heaven, bad things are more likely to happy. Even a religion that advocates love, compassion and forgiveness can be hijacked by corrupt people.
Oh, and many of the participants in religious wars never even had access to a Bible, they could only hear what their religious leaders said the Bible said, so if the religious leader said you will be saved eternally if you fight and die in the name of God, the congregation might go and fight because they thought it was commanded by their religion when in fact it was just a corrupt religious leader twisting scripture to meet his own agenda.
Religion is simply best kept between a man and his God, and thats why the government should never endorse or restrain any religious devotions. Its just safer to keep religion and government power from mixing, and its best for someone to know what the Bible really says rather than simply following what a minister says the Bible says.

If you look at all the different religion syou will nowtice they all have siminlar stories in common, Creation, Flood, etc Though they are from different perspectives the ideas remain the same. Each had some form of book that they believe in, where history has been recorded. It is a fact that Jesus Christ came, suffered, died, was buried, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I hope you'll be prepared for it.
Unless you're a Scientologist, then yes, it's all a bunch of ridiculous, made-up, nonsense. That's right Mr. Cruise...What...What? Oh, and I believe in medication for mental illness, are you mad, yet? Good Biatch! May God have mercy on your soul!

Religion is a system of beliefs. How Christianity caused deaths and wars? Because it wasnt true Christianity. If I kill somebody in your name will you be responsible for what i did?
Atheists (communists) in China also kill people because they have different point of view. You didn't prove anything. Your point of view is also a religion. I hope you are not going to torture Christians or any other people to convert them to your version of reality. If you read the Bible you will no that Christianity doesnt allow anyone to torture or kill others. I cant belive you are so thick that you didnt notice that.

not fantasy in step with se, yet on mythology, legend and fictional, elaborated money owed of a few historic activities. yet when you consider that all religions position self assurance in some ingredient of the supernatural and beings with fantastical powers and documents, it obviously isn't in accordance with actuality. which could be fantastically obvious to every person searching at it in an purpose style.

Your dream last night was both fact and fantasy
Album: Ozzy Osbourne - "Blizzard Of Ozz" (1980)
I Don't Know
People look to me and say
Is the end near, when is the final day?
What's the future of mankind?
How do I know, I got left behind
Everyone goes through changes
Looking to find the truth
Don't look at me for answers
Don't ask me
I don't know
How am I supposed to know
Hidden meanings that will never show
Fools and prophets from the past
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast
You gotta believe in someone
Asking me who is right
Asking me who to follow
Don't ask me
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
Nobody ever told me
I found out for myself
You gotta believe in foolish miracles
It's not how you play the game
It's if you win or lose
You can choose, don't confuse, win or lose
It's up to you
It's up to you
It's up to you
It's up to you
Go, go, go
People look to me and say
Is the end near, when is the final day?
What's the future of mankind?
How do I know, I got left behind, now I'm lost
Everyone goes through changes
Looking to find the truth
Don't look at me for answers
Don't ask me
I don't know

The majority of those who adhere to Islam and Christianity do not kill.
I repeat...they do not kill..
youre talking about billions and billions of people here.
that being said...fantasies have existed but have faded over time.
if billions of people are believing in something..then there must be some truth to what theyre following..or those billions of people..would not have followed it so much.
and atheists have always took the liberty of calling most people dumb because they adhere to religion.
Look up my previous answer and youll see why there is religion on earth.

First of all, Christianity is very much fact and, second of all, Religion did not cause all of the wars, mankind did. I challenge you to read Josh McDowell's "Evidence which Demands a Verdict" and read and STUDY the Bible.
