I dont care if they do. As a matter of fact, I think they should. Seperation of church and state, marriage, legally, is a state issue.

However, a friend of mine, a Christian, does not support it, because it contributes to the moral decline of marriage. My point to her was "Doesnt the 50% HETEROSEXUAL divorce rate do that too?" She had no answer.

The civil rights of others is not the question for Christians. (You have been listening to too many preachers who teach a social gospel rather than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.)

The civil rights of individuals, backed by strong lobbying organizations have eaten away at the fabric of society: the family unit (1 man, 1 woman, their children.)

A democracy such as we have in the USA is made up of people, and not special interest groups. Majority rule is the way it works to the benefit of the majority of the citizens. We are not a country with a Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgendered majority.

Christians do not fight for political correctness. We fight for justice and Biblical correctness.

GREAT QUESTION. I was raised to believe in Christ, but as I have aged I lean more towards the Jewish belief. Now if I may give you my opinion. The Bible says God created man and woman..let them multiply. That is the only basis for their belief on the subject of gay relations. And too in a medical sense two men practicing sex with eachother, if unprotected have a higher risk of sexually transmitted diseases. If they also sleep with women or have other partners these diseases are spread to eachother and possibly to unborn children. I myself do not have an opinion. I do not care if they have the same rights as a married man and woman and I too believe they should.

God told us in the Bible that it is a homosexuality is a sin.
Christians are to love the sinner and hate the sin.
That means that we are to warn people of what sin is and point them to the savior and deliverer.

If you want I can e-mail you a list of scriptures about homosexuality or post it here (send me an e-mail through my avitar).

Since you want play the my religion is better than yours...least in Christian societies women can drive and vote in 2006 and preachers don't ask men to beat their wives to dicipline them. Before you mock other people, go solve your own problems.

it's a breakdown of God's law. as Christians we do have a responsibility to "fight" for the rights of others, just as long as it is not contrary to God's law.

WRONG!!
Homosexuality is a sin, ans if it is legal for them to marry, then that is like encouraging them. And it is wrong to encourage sin.
