1) netmeeting (a simple chat application with remote ppl, where u hav chat window, share ur windows, desktop or any application for dem to c, or even access it from der, n cud talk to dem too...)
2) hope u know about yahoo...n google talk too
3) watelse u mean to say about communication in windows?
is it d general communication means

For Windows 2000, XP is net send command, Vista, 7, 8 versions operate with msg command.
Most simple way is using third party LAN chat software, users can chat, send broadcast message and transfer files over network.
