Mr. Frank, a former stroke victim who had made a remarkable recovery, suddenly began to have problems reading. He complained of seeing double and also had problems navigating steps. He was unable to move his left eye downward laterally. What cranial nerve was the site of lesion? (Right or left)

Right side was effected. When a brain side is effected in a stroke, the opposite extremity will be the one that is effected

If his left eye is affected then the lesion would be in the right side.

it was the right side. the right side of the brain controls the left side, and the left side of the brain controls the right side
