I have attended Data Protection Training today and i asked the trainer this question for you.He told me that under the data protection act you cannot be informed of the addresses or whereabouts of your previous carers as this information is protected under the act and is classified as confidential. He explained that on occaision a person has wanted the same info to exact revenge or harrass the carer because of ill feeling.I am sure this is not the case with you but as foster carers are agents of an organisation they are entitled to this protection under the act and anyone who submits this information is breaking the law and can be sued if damage and distress is caused to the carer as a result of passing on contact details. However i was told that once you access your files and this has to be applied for in writing and you still wish to make contact with your ex carers a message can be passed on to them via the local authority that were responsible for you saying you want to get in touch and then it is up to the carers if they wish to do this.I would suggest that you leave your contact details with a message with the manager of the child care team who you were under and ask them to pass this on to your carers.I don,t think you need to access your files to do this.Ask the manager to confirm once he or she has done this then wait and see if the carers respond.Be prepared incase the carers have moved and cannot be located this way but i wish you every success in your search.

as quickly as we first desperate to pass forward and undertake it grew to become into basic, It grew to become into all approximately us and because shall we not have infants we adore many individuals could attempt and undertake. Oh how naive we've been. We desperate shall we carry out a little solid for a constrained form of youngsters, so who ought to we %. We regarded on the photos on the internet, yet once you shut the internet website or pass directly to the subsequent photograph this is like saying no to those infants. Guilt? Oh yeah and distinctive it, we had to get previous that or provide up. a solid situation got here out of looking nevertheless, we found out that there are truthfully infants that have risks whilst attempting to get accompanied. as an occasion; beautiful little blonde haired females with toddler blue eyes get accompanied very at as quickly as at a similar time as blended race boys age 5 and over have a decrease than even hazard of ever being accompanied and could likely spend their infants in foster care. And sibling communities are seldom accompanied mutually. We made a plan, to do the main for those maximum risks. We informed our social worker we've been searching for a blended race toddler, and a boy over the age of 5 and could desire a sibling group of as much as 3 and does not be drawn to and blonde haired blue eyed little females. Months glided by ability of and CPS call with 2 boys a 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous with a sprint brother who grew to become into blended race (black and white). We have been elated. Oh yeah day after on the instant the social worker stated as back to declare the middle toddler grew to become right into a sprint blonde haired woman with (you guessed it) Blue eyes. All 3 are doing okay and liviing a existence that none could have had if we had not accompanied. there is a lot greater to our tale, some solid some not, that's the only i like to tell.

You write to the Director of Social Services in that area and ask for access to your records, giving details of yourself now and as you were then.Your records will have been archived but they are still held and will be for another 50 years. You're entitled to see them. Third party info will be removed - and this can take time as its not usually a priority in busy departments. All the best.

Go to your local Department of Human Services. In issues like this there is ALWAYS a Social Worker involved. Be respectful but firm with them. They tend to 'push' folks aside. Good Luck!
