how is it possible to give an accurate date, how do they know if whether or not after a thousand years or so bones dont start detoriating and aging at a much more rapid pace and if not they are saying they are much older than they actually are

2nd question, if scientists think the worlds been around for 65 million years or whatever how come there arent any trees that are older than 4 or 5,000 years old, i know trees are constantly dying and being cutdown, but it seems like through out history there would at least be some trees older than that if the worlds Actually been around for as long as we think

most elements exist in two forms- normal form and radioactive forms. normal carbon has mas no 13 and radioactive carbon has mass no 14. nitrogen reacts with cosmic rays and forms RA(radioactive) carbon. this carbon combines with oxygen and plants take this carbon di oxide for photosynthesis. so this carbon remain in their body. animals eat plants and indirectly stored in their body. when plants and animals die the intake of RA carbon ceases. this RA carbon starts to disintegrate with time. 50% of this RA carbon disintegrates in 5700 yrs. so by calculating the amount remainig or the disintegrations emitted we can calculate the age of fossils

Well, if the world is really over a hundred years old, how come there aren't any humans older than that? I mean, I know humans die all the time and stuff, but it seems like there should be a few...THE TREES DIED OF OLD AGE!!!

And as for the bones, they're not measing the deterioration of the bones precisely, they're measuring the amount of C-14 in them. Living creatures are constantly taking in and excreting carbon, so the ratio of C-14 to C-12 in them stays constant. When a creature dies, it stops taking in and excreting carbon and just keeps the carbon it has. C-14 is radioactive and C-12 isn't, so the ratio slowly drops. The half-life of C-14 is known, so we can tell how old formerly living things are by how much C-14 hasn't decayed yet.

it is honestly performed through carbon-relationship. This is composed of determining how a lot of diverse aspects are modern-day contained in the fossils now, how a lot there could be it replaced right into a 'new' pattern, and dealing out how lengthy the hollow in between could were. Are you suggesting that God positioned pretend dinosaur bones contained in the earth even as he created it?! How precisely would that make contributions some thing to the operating of the global, except he DID want to trick us into believing that dinosaurs existed because it fairly is the really position those bones play contained in the global. to boot, the life of dinosaurs isn't incompatible with Christianity. The Bible is through no means a complete textbook of each and everything that has ever occurred on earth ever.
