Most viruses in the blood that are exposed to air for a while die before they infect you by contact. Some don't. Bacteria is a different store. If you had some blood splashed on you, chances of getting an infection are very , very slim. Circumstances must be right. 1 - the blood is in the sink, not fresh, like seconds old.2 - the blood is diluted with water, from you washing your hands. 3 - you must have a break in the skin exactly where the blood touches it in order to be at risk. 4 - your body, once exposed to an infectious agent has a defense mechanism to fight it off.
So, chances are very, very slim. Feel better?

You shouldn't be concern if you do not have any open cuts or if you didn't have direct contact with the blood, any way the water that you were using has chlorine in it(assuming is city water), which is an oxidizer(chlorine) the outher layers of most vacteria are made of protein which when it comes in contact with chlorine capoon they die...sooooooo don't worry ---you are fine...have a nice day and don't worry about it any more...go and have a nice icecream cone ...thay will make your day sweeter...i wish i could do that...take care...

Hepatitis C can reconstitute in liquids...if you had an open wound, even though chances under these circumstances are rare and very hard to acquire, it does happen.

It wouldn't hurt to get tested anyway. Good luck
