Got flashed by a speed camera a couple of weeks ago. She was doing about 10 miles over the speed limit (silly cow) but she's never been 'got' before. She asked me how much I thought the fine would be, but, as I cant drive I haven't got a clue.

Have you ever been 'got' by a speed camera? If so, how much was the fine? Is it a set amount for all speeding offences?

Also, as it happened a couple of weeks ago, she thinks she's got away with it as she hasn't heard anyhthing about it yet, but i'm not so sure. Do these things take time to come through?

if it hasn't arrived in 14 days ur in the clear! it's a 60 pound fine and 3 points on your liscense. Tell her not to worry too much even if it flashed it dosn't mean there was film in the camera and of all the ones flashed they are only allowed to fine a certain percentage and they will be the fastest ones. So personally i'd say not too worry.

I have recently been caught by the speed camera. I t almost cost me my job, I was disciplined for it. I was travelling at 38 mph I will receive 3 points on my licence and have too pay £60 00. No she wont get away with it. I thought that I had got away with it.

If she has been got, some Police forces offer the option of taking a course on road awareness, it usually lasts about a week and costs about £120; this is usually offered as an alternative to the points and may be cheaper in the long term.

I believe that if you have not heard anything after two weeks that you will not hear anything (they have only so long to report/do you). So with a bit of luck she might of got away with it.
Anyway i think its 4 or 3 ( cant remember) points on licence and £60 fine.

I think she has gotten away with it, the fines come in pretty quickly

for a SP30 (speeding in a 30mph zone) its a £60 fine and 3 points
