Jesus was never a christian, he rebelled against the abuses of church and state.

If Christianity did not exist and Jesus appeared to the Jews today, I think the result would be the same. Yes we have technology and internet and TV and other things, but imagine what it would be like for the whole world to be pagan and only the remnant of Isreal, the Jews believed in the one God and waiting an earthly King.
The Jews wanted an earthly king and not a spiritual heavenly one and this is one reason Jesus was rejected.
Then Jesus would start preaching to the Jew only like he did back then and raised the dead, healed the sick, and the other things he did. I think he would still be succesful in starting Christianity and he would still be killed.
The world back then was different in that only the decendants of Abraham believed in the bible and the one God spoken of in it. The rest of the world was pagan and worshiped many gods.
Jesus did not preach to the gentile or pagan, and Paul was the one who carried the message to us gentile pagans. If not for Paul even today only the Jew would be followers of the bible and the one God in the bible.
But since Christianity is already established If someone came and did do the things Jesus is said to have done, that is raise the dead , restore arms and legs that just grow in front of your eye, he would be labled the anti christ and people would reject him also.
when I went to churches that beleived in the literal 1000 year reign and one anti christ, they taught that the anti christ will be able to send fire from heaven and duplicate the miracles of Jesus exactly, so these people will still reject anyone claiming to be Christ and who performs miracles. the difference is I doubt they would actually kill anyone today.

People dont chose where or how theyre gonna be born..
God does.
And Jesus wasnt God.
He was Jesus...closer to God as no one in his time ever was.
As it is, if God has sent Jesus in this day and age..that could only mean one thing: we need the message...cause were lost. so yep...I would make sure its from God first..then Id follow...

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. Just take a look around you. We have a society that is so involved in 'self'. And many people won't believe the truth without a 'link' to prove it. Like having a 'link' somehow 'proves' anything.

God felt the need for Him to come in the time He did
Why?...Only God knows this
Would people embrace Him now if they could see Him?...Yes I believe that they would

it was when people needed help the most. they needed someone to lift their hopes. If he came today he'd have to arrive with more grand entry. Now it would look as a scandal and a hoax. But I could very well be wrong. Its hard telling really.

I think He chose that time because of the amount of conflict between the Jews and the Romans.
