They have a pool and breakfast in AM. Two responsible female adults for supervision. Is it any more dangerous than a home sleepover? We have a small house.

Well, from remembering my sleep over days and now also being a mother.....I wouldn't mind it. BUT even for a regular sleep over, I would want to know the people supervising. Also, maybe sending out in the invites the room number (which you can set up in advance for these situations) and the telephone number for the hotel and your cell. I just would NOT want even 5 minutes to go by and not have a way to get a hold of my daughter. Also, my mother never liked anything out of town, so make sure it is a very cental location in your area. And because of the pool.....maybe ask for another person to be around during the swimming time, little girls and QUICK and some just can't swim at that age. Better safe than sorry. Maybe even ask another mother. Good Luck!

They might think it's kind of fun, but the parents might be iffy with the pool thing. Perhaps there's a rec center where you can have a party and then have the girls just come back to the house to sleep over. I can't imagine spending all that $$$ on a ten-year-old's birthday party, for the hotel and everything. As a parent, I might be uncomfortable knowing my child was going to a party that the parents had spent so much on, and then feel oblilgated to really drop the cash on an expensive gift and all that. As far as danger, it depends on how many girls you're having, but I'd assume there would be no need to invite more than five or six girls, so that might be okay with two adults. I just think it might make me uncomfortable to have my child go to something like that.

It might be a nice idea, but there would be NO way I'd let my 10 year old and her friends go to a hotel ( responsible adults or not).. for a party. Tell her that you have a small house, and she can have 2 special friends over.

I had a party for my twin's 10th birthday party at a hotel - we had a sleepover (a total of 8 boys!) - a really fun pool and arcade - ordered a bunch of pizza - just let them run wild. It was a total blast! No huge messes to clean up. Be prepared to stay up late. Bring other games, maybe a dvd player....a radio, etc. Other ways to entertain the kids after the pool closes for the evening. Really - I was a little aprehensive about it at first (I was the only one who spent the night)....but it made a great memory for my kids. Just do it!

It would just depend on how well I knew the parents who were throwing the party. I probably would let my child if it was someone I trusted. I have actually known several people who have had sleepovers at a hotel. The kids love it.

I would not let my kids go to a sleep over at a hotel/motel (although THEY would think it's awesome!). I think it would be easy to lose track of kids in a public place like that, and it is more dangerous than a home environment since there are other guests there (of unknown background).

My kids have both been to parties at hotels. They were swimming and sleepover parties. I'll tell you one thing though, all 3 parents who did the parties said 'Never Again"!

It would depend on if I knew the Adults who are supervising, and if the place has a good reputation for security measures. Also how mature your daughter is at ten years old?

You want to go to a hotel for a sleep over? I never heard of that, but I guess it could work. Have you asked what the other parents think of this? I am not sure i would send my 10 year old girl to a hotel for a sleep over

If you have enough people to supervise then it is a great idea.
Let me know which motel and when I want to avoid that one that particular night
