Sounds like a case of if I can't do it anymore but I'll not let you either. Try buying her a cookbook from a favorite vacation spot or restaurant or get her a surprise massage or pedicure manicure after work, drop her off tell her you'll be back to pick her up in 2 hours (make sure it's close to home), make the special dinner you mentioned with a lovely side salad and sparkling wine (I like Mum blue label, but get what you prefer), purchase a small chocolate cake or some fruit sorbet for dessert. Clean the kitchen and set the table. Leave the chicken in the oven and retrieve her. I think she will so appreciate your thoughtfulness and the surprise she'll not only be pleased she just may let you share kitchen duties. Good Luck!

Have you made a mess before when you use the kitchen? Perhaps that's the reason why she won't have you near the kitchen.
I've never tried the recipe you've just mentioned, sure sound yummy.
Good luck with coaxing her to cook that recipe, perhaps some pampering, compliments and you know what (heeee) would do some tricks.
Cheers!

With a recipe like that the woman must be nuts not to let you in the kitchen, sounds delicious. Do you clean up nicely after cooking? That would be the only rational reason to ban someone from the kitchen.

Wow.. those sound delicious!
Maybe if you offered to cook her a romantic dinner, have candle light, wine.. she may change her mind.
Maybe she's afraid you'd leave her with the mess to clean up..
Sometimes, I admit that I do that with my husband, but lately, I've been willing to let him explore his talents in the kitchen, once I learned he was also going to do the cleaning.
If she's not willing, care to come to WI and use my kitchen.. :)

Sounds great, and I can't immagine what her problem is, or why you aren't allowed near the kitchen. Maybe sign her up for a cooking class? They have couple's cooking classes that make fun dates, depending how interested you both are in the culinary. Just check your yellow pages.

If you aren't married to her, I would suggest you leave. I would step aside and allow anyone else to have access to my kitchen. If you can cook, then by all means please do so. You should have a talk with the woman and explain that you are willing to do the cooking. I hope she changes her mind. If she doesn't, then happy hunting. Good luck and GOD bless.

Recipe sounds fine. Question is, do you clean up after cooking, or treat her like a kitchen apprentice?

I have never heard of this recipe.. And it sounds really expensive, especially with "Truffles"!!! My gosh, do you guys happen to live in "Beverly Hills?" I think you need to go and ask some of your wealthy neighbors, hun. I'm sure everyone of them have heard of this recipe. Or log onto, FoodNetwork.com.. Sounds like the exact same dish they're currently "special-ing" at KFC. Get yourself down there.
