I have a 4 year old lab, who is fixed, and he continues to mount things. Myself in general. Is this common? What can I do to stop him?

This is typically a sign of dominance, it's not sexual. Your lab needs lots of exercise and other things to do, like chew toys, and to be scolded every time he tries to mount something / your leg. Try a loud noise, not just saying "No". Like drop a dictionary on the floor when he mounts something. The loud noise will startle him, and eventually he will equate mounting something with that startling noise and, if it's loud enough and it irritates him enough, he'll stop to avoid hearing it.

It is a sign of dominance in the dog world. You need to continually enforce that you are the alpha of the house. Google NILIF (Nothing In Life Is Free). A Trainer would be a good investment.

Seriously, make sure your undergarments and personal areas are very clean. These dogs would mount anything with little provocation but having raised them and been around them all my live ahd have sold and trained these dogs, I have seen it all.

Mounting is a dominance issue - most males, neutered or not will do this to establish dominance.

He is trying to dominate you. Be sure to show him you are in charge.
