I have an original Microsoft Works CD that I haven't used or installed on a computer for years, but now I require to do so, but of course it asks for a 20 digit registration code, I seem to of lost this, any ideas how I may be able to get around it so I can install?

do you have a computer with it installed or know someone that does?

there is a program to view the key

note: this is not hacking or cracking in anyway, this tool is to see the key that you paid for. (will not work with word 2000 and below)

other wise you are kind of out off luck with word. I have contacted Microsoft in the past for this same issue and they would not give me a new key.

You could use something like open office until you can find or get a new key.

here is a link to download open office( it is free)

it works with word documents

Well, I'm not completely sure, I couldn't find anything about it on the internet. I think the best thing to do is to contact Microsoft. You can find the contact details on the Microsoft website.
