Is it only earthquakes and floods you wish God had made contingency plans for? How about droughts and famines, diseases, tsunamis, hurricanes, plagues, landslides, lightning and typhoons? Should he have considered global warming? He could have had a rethink concerning overpopulation and it might have been smart to make everyone the same colour and made them speak the same language...oh dear...do you think he maybe took a nap and ran out of time?

If you are thinking about the days mentioned in Genesis 1, a day can mean any length of time, not necessarily a 24 hour day. The day of harvest refers to an entire season. In the days of Churchill refers to his entire life. Morning is near the beginning of the time, and evening is near the end. Another word for evening is twilight, as in, in his twilight years.

everything has a purpose, there are species of animals and plants that thrive on flood conditions, for example dabbling ducks in the south reside in flooded timber, withough floods you would see huge declines in duck populations
as for earthquakes, i'm not sure, we don't get them here in Ohio very often

Well, 'God' and i use the term lightly, is 'testing' our faith with all the horrible horrible things she put on this earth (yes i said she)
this is what ive been told by christians anyway. everything is a damn test even fossils!! madness. thats what it is madness. but then again 'hell hath no furry like a woman scorned' so maybe if we were all a bit nicer she wouldnt have to kill us off with tests.
