'Enjoying single life' is blokey talk for, 'Are you making the most of your new found opportunity to shag around and have I got a chance?'
Some guys - real friend types - may ask you the question in this way, not as a come on, but to ask you how you're coping without focusing on the negative emotions you may be feeling after the breakup.
Basically, gauge it on how close as friends you were when you weren't single and take notice of whether his level of attention to you has increased as well.
