The statement is a straightforward liberal commentary on many misunderstandings and false teachings within the Christian community. I especially liked his point that Jesus had a lot to say about hypocrisy and phariseeism, but nothing about homosexuality. I think he went over the top a bit by implying that we needed to read Greek or Latin to have a discussion about it, though.

I was following along somewhat until he made the statement about it saying that homosexuality isn't a sin! How wrong he is! He mustn't be a very good scholar or he doesn't fully understand the book of Leviticus or Romans, both of which call homosexuality an abomination and etc.... I feel that in the secular view, gays have been mistreated, but there are certain things that are wrong for people to say just to "soothe" things over with the gay community. I'm sorry to see that the clergy is beginning to sell out on such a plainly stated viewpoint in the Word.
