Hmm. Well my mom was raised Greek Orthodox, became Baptist/non denominational or some such thing and then met my father at church. He believed, then he slowly became an atheist/agnostic/whatever, which he was during my early childhood (and went back to Christianity later in life). I still attended church with my grandparents - Southern Baptist, and I've gone to several different denominations of Christianity over the last twenty years.

Then this year, I deconverted and I'm now an atheist. So, no and yes. Depends on the parent and the time period.

I was raised a Christian, because both my parents are (though of different denominations). As I grew older, wiser, and more worldly, I started making decisions of my own about spirituality, religion and morality. I have faith in myself to make the right choices, but in everything I've seen in my time and travels, I can't accept the idea that ONE religion is right above all others. That's one reason why I abandoned the religion I was brought up with.

my mother doesnt follow a religion and my father couldnt decide on which religion was best for him in life. My husband and myself though have found a church that follows the bible the way we believe.

I left my parents' religion, looked around at some others, and went back to the one I was taught as a child. It is the most truthful and faithful to what the bible says.

Me? I was born into it; like most of the people around.

Only we don't go around making a big thing about it and telling everyone else how wrong they are.

We leave that to those jerks who like to think they've "found" Religion.

Even the Atheists and Agnostics who go around trying to tell all of how wrong "Religion" is are making a "Religion" of their own.

Peace, bro.

I pick my own religion, which is not to follow any religion at all. I guess I'm a Diest: I believe in God and only God.
