A question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoxVBPGJNEVWPZl20CpN1yjzy6IX?qid=20061114065413AA8wGHI
How can ANYONE say that that is proof of God?!?! People see Jesus in a darn grilled cheese sandwich. But the image that they see is the media's view on how Jesus looked. Some people can see a Ghost, Elves, Tinkerbelle or even Mickey Mouse in a paint splotch, does that make them real?
Does that "man on the moon" face on the moon mean that there really is a man on the moon?!? (http://www.bmagshop.co.uk/assets/userimages/face_of_the_moon.jpg
IMAGES prove nothing. How can SOME Christians save that there is proof in Jesus in a gold nugget but disregard FACTS of BIOLOGY?!?

Steph - Yes actually. The only way I would believe in God is if he was standing right in front of me. You can continue to believe in something that you have no proof of but most of us require JUST A LITTLE more than that

It's like an ink blot test. Everybody sees something different. While I see a mother holding her child, I don't see anything resembling any of the imagery of Mary that I grew up with.
People only SEE what they want to see. People so desperately want answers to life's questions and to see if god really exists that they will FORCE themselves to see things for something that they are not.
It's laughable and sad that they believe proof is found in a gold nugget. It's like me saying proof of unicorns can be found in Harry Potter.
ARE YOU FOR REAL!?!?! I just read the answer above me. Actually, the prison population is made up of MOSTLY CHRISTIANS.

"Is absence of evidence of God evidence of the absence of God?" No. i think of you're leaning greater into the area of agnosticism. (atheism and agnosticism are actually not mutually unique). i'm an Agnostic Atheist. i don't have faith in the existence of deities, yet i don't entirely rule them out, the two. i in my opinion, experience that the existence of deities isn't likely (nevertheless attainable). I additionally experience that the favourite public of theistic religions are guy-made, and impossible. You stated an argument of the burden of evidence. it continuously lays on the guy making the dazzling declare. If I have been to declare there have been a flying spaghetti monster, you're able to ask for evidence, and rightly so. There won't be able to be evidence that gods do not exist. What you should do is initiate from an independent element. The information does not unavoidably help a divine writer. Theists usually tend to lean that way simply by their upbringing and social environment. you're able to desire to continuously initiate with the question and attempt to uncover the respond. you should in no way initiate with the respond and attempt to in effective condition the question to it.

Well, I consider myself a Christian, and I agree with you on the gold nugget thing. However, the facts of biology don't disprove the presence of God. Biology just proves that we have been given the intelligence to understand aspects of how God created this world.

SImply put, MOST people are concidered to be of average intellect. What that equates to, is most people, are fools. Concider this, approx 85% of the population believe in "god", without any proof AT ALL. This is the same as saying " a flying pink elephant controls the entire universe" because theres just as much proof to support the pink elephant theory as there is of God. Yet people chose to believe in god anyhow. They also chose to believe that voting actually makes a difference, or that the weekend is for PARTYING. Most people are like dogs, you ring a bell and they salivate. Ooooh weekend is here that means I have to go get my "drink on". Ever notice that no matter who runs for president, that once they get into office, very little of what they claimed to DO for the people ever is actually done? And they get hundreds of thousands of dollars FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE on an annual basis once they are no longer president. Does it make any sense that the american peoples paychecks are being taxed to PAY for the salary of people for the rest of their lives who only did a select job for 4 or 8 years? And then we are told that social security wont last- well its no wonder. People are EASILY programmed which is one of the main points in the Movie The Matrix. EVEN when faced with the TRUTH, when faced with REALITY, people dont want to WAKE UP and will FIGHT you to retain what they have been PRROGRAMMED to believe is REAL. It is our REAL EYES that must REALIZE the REAL LIES if we are ever to become more than mere puppets of what the TV and Religion tell us is real. Remember puppets, buy buy buy- ever notice how often throughout the YEAR we are programmed to BUY items to SHOW that we love someone. Valentines day, birthdays, christmas, fathers day, mothers day, all these BUY to show your love programs we are constantly being fed. People, WANT to be programmed, its EASIER than making decisions on their own. Its a sad sad sad reality. Oh and one final point, for those people who believe in God, not science yet they communicate over the internet, drive cars and take medicine and wear glasses- GO figure THAT out. Theyre blind to the fact that if they TRULY belive in God, then why are they going against GODS WILL And correcting their vision, taking medications to prevent a heart attack or driving a car when all of those things apparently go against Gods PLAN. After all, if God wanted men to fly, wouldnt he have given them wings? Religion is a sham to distract and CONTROL and by the way, if there IS a separation of CHURCH and STATE, WHY do churches get TAX FREE Exemption status? Interesting eh?

Well I saw the Flying Spaghetti Monster (pbuh) In a photo taken by a pirate and I was touched by his noodly appendage. That is all the proof I need!! I feel sorry for the ones who will not be gathered by the beer volcano in heaven! so sad! We must all come together in the name of the noodles, the sauce and the holy meatballs!

Like I said it looks like a monkey holding a baby so it might be proof of the missing link as easily as God, it's just a bit of gold.

For it's all about faith Hebrew 11:1 now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. For those who love the Lord seek him and there is a hughr difference between fact and truth. For your sake i hope your right.

One of the facts of biology is that all things are created. In science, this fact presupposes a Creator. You are correct about finding the proof of God in an image ... that's called idol worship and God, Himself, forbids it. You will find the proof of God in every atom in existence.

I don't know what proof you want. Would anything short of God standing next to you with a 2x4 do?
Hopefully some of these links help.

Besides, what is so wrong with having faith? If you deny me my beliefs and religion, then you are no better then those who would deny you yours.
