I'm looking for a good hairbrush, that won't split my hair and leave it frizzy. I have long, wavy hair and hairbrushes seem to slaughter it, can anyone reccommend a good brush, please??! Also, Paddle or round? thanks xxx

A paddle brush of boar bristle. Always start from the ends and work your way towards the scalp.

Denman do a range of really great brushes. They arent cheap but last years and years and Im 26 and had mine since I was 16. They have been around ages and all the hair mags give them really good review. Boots do a few of them but the best place to but one would be John Lewis (they have a website too).
To clean it just pop it in a bowl of warm water with a little washing up liqud.
They do both paddle and round ones and have loads of different sizes too. I also swear by there combs as they are great to comb through wet hair.

Use a comb when your hair is wet starting at the end and work up to the roots, then use a paddle brush as it creates a smoother look where as a bristle brush can case static.

i use a round brush on my shoulder length natural hair and a paddle brush when im drying my extensions. they say use paddle brushes for long hair and point the hair dryer downwards closing the hair shaft making it less frizzy hope this helps ! also try some serum or leave in conditioner

Instead of a hairbrush, you may want to look for a wide tooth pick. They are actually better for wavy hair. Brushes can frizz wavy hair. A pick can get a snarl out without messing up any curls or waves. It is also better for heavy hair. A brush tends to pull out more hairs. A pick doesn't grab a hold of many hairs therefore it can't pull as many out.

Paddle brushes, I find, are the best for hair as they do not tangle in the hair and break it. You don't say where you are but Avon do a good quality paddle brush for about £7.00 when there is no sale on. Round brushes in my experience get tangled in hair very easily.

paddle brushes are best for brittle/ dry or untamed hair.. i use a Denman black paddle brush (found at Boots) which makes my locks silky and smooth, its pretty cheap and brilliant!
