Is it possible to be best friends with the opposite sex without falling in love?

It is totally possible to have a best friend of the opposite sex with out falling in love with them. Especially if both people involved are thinking with their heads and not what is down below. I have had a few very good guy friends that I was never in love with. I care alot about them because they are good friends, they are like brothers to me, so I guess you would say I love them in a family way but I'm not in love with them. It's totally possible!

Yes, you can love someone without BEING in love with them. as for a best friend being the opposite sex, well, some people can handle it and others cant.

Yes it is very possible. I have many guy friends and one boyfriend. Friends are very different from boyfriends.

yes and no. ive been in this kinda situation. my friend and i had been good friends for more than a year. then one day i asked her, "are we in love?". she said, "no, but its not wrong to give it a try". then we become lovers for 2 years or so. then personal conflicts came and then we broke up. now we still good friends, not as close as before. and i learnt lessons from that relationship.

if one of the friends is gay perhaps,but in reality no.you will fall in and out of love with your best friend and as long as the two of you know and understand the difference things will be fine.
