150-30%+5% is what you need to calculate. First, what is 30% of 150. To figure this out you will need to multiply 150 x .30 (that's the decimal value for 30%) the result is: 45. So the formula is now 150-45+5%. The next step is to do the 150-45 before you calculate the sales tax which is 150-45=105. So the next calculation will be 105+5%. To figure out what the 5% is, you will need to multiply 105 x .05 (the decimal value for 5%) which will give you 5.25. So now you are left with 105 + 5.25. So add 105 to 5.25 and you get 110.25, the total cost of the camera.

Don't let multiple percentages throw you, as you can apply them all in whatever order you like ...

e.g. 150 x .70 x 1.05 = .70 x 150 x 1.05 = 1.05 x .70 x 150

And they all equal $110.25

Wow, quiet a few answers that all look good, but no one mentioned what tax bracket are you in. All the calulations were for sales tax, your income is taxes before you spend it at the Federal Level, that could be another 15-35%.

First, be sure what 30% of $one hundred fifty is: one hundred fifty x .30 = 40 5. Then subtract that from the one hundred fifty: one hundred fifty - 40 5 = a hundred and five. After this, be sure what 5% of a hundred and five is: a hundred and five x .05 = 5.25 and upload it to the a hundred and five. a hundred and five + 5.25 = value of digital camera = a hundred and ten.25.

Is this wordplay? Do you mean a $150 camera? Since the $ is right next to the % on the keyboard, and since the > is right next to the ? , I would think it's wordplay.
