about 7 years ago a friend of mine was in a horrible car accident. his car was all but obliterated(as bad as you see on the drunk-driving educational movies). when he told me about it, he said the entire car was destroyed except for the area immediately around him. he's religious so he described it as like a handprint was around his body. he should have been dead. he did suffer some injuries but he was basically no worse for wear. so...do you believe it was divine intervention(please don't refer to god as people have different views on what's divine), or was it luck? or was it simply a well-made car doing what it was designed to do? or something else?

Sounds like divine intervention to me.
A similar thing happened to a friend of mine and my husband's. He was involved in a car accident with a semi, going at least 70 MPH. He and the friend of his that was in the car both survived with only minor injuries. After seeing pictures of the car, it's miraculous that ANYONE survived that. There was literally nothing left of the car.

The words that I would use to describe it is fate, destiny, along those lines. What else can it be? I had a brother that was killed at the age of 11 in a car wreck. Five other people died in the same car. My mother and father were devastated and I had an emotional break down over it. That was a long time ago. Both my parents are gone now. My mother's life changed dramatically after that. She never left my fathers side. She went everywhere and anywhere with my father from there on out. Previous to that, she stayed home with her children. My father became bitter and colder than he was before the incident. My two youngest brothers took a back seat due to lack of attention. I truly believe that it was fate that day my brother died. I tried to tell this to my father; he would have no part of it. He yelled at me and told me I was a fool. Why was he in that car then? My parents didn't even know he was gone, he didn't ask to go. It was a joy ride in a hot car that was owned by a neighbor that all the young boys were thrilled over (a mustang) they hung out watching him wash it, etc.I, being the oldest of 8 children, and a newlywed, was already out of the loop of the "kids" left at home. I was emotionally crushed by it all being that I was the oldest and tried to help, but got pushed aside because my input was foolish. Well I'll tell you what, if it's not fate, then what the hell is it. Years later I'm still here and my husband is now dead, along with many others that I loved and cared about. I sit here alone and depressed with this life, trying everyday to get myself to care about life again. I have little or no support from my church, all preoccupied with whatever, my family has their own lives to lead and I have to go on regardless because it's FATE and the way GOD wants it. So there it is.........take it for what it's worth and believe me, it's worth plenty if you want to listen and believe in me who knows nothing and no one believes in........peace and love to all........

- Out of a thousand accident like that how many people actually survive?

I'll say not the vast majority, so I have to agree with your friend God had still has plans for his life.

- Yes, I said God because no intervention is divine without God.

properly, the Bible does motivate people to be clever, and it sounds like a diverse loss of know-how. specially circumstances people whinge approximately God not doing something to get their interest, properly, i assume he's have been given your interest. i could advise you initiate by ability of apologising to God, then freshen up the mess, and ask gf if she'd decide to go out for lunch after church on Sunday. it would desire to pay to not flush the rest room in case it overflows. positioned water in a bucket and tip it into the bowl. If there's a blockage you are able to a minimum of administration the region.

I would say it is God.

The definition of divine from the Webster dictionary:
1a : of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God or a god
