Ah ...the soft-shoe routine you can get from people who believe in the "inerrant" Bible - when a text clearly states something so awful that it must be re-re-reinterpreted.
So .. a word from our sponsor:
Isiah 45:7 "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I the LORD do all these things."
And now let's hear the various (laughable) renditions of what "evil" means "in this context," or "the actual Hebrew means something totally different." - obviously it couldn't just mean "evil," .... could it?
There is no one answer to your question. Current theology, in a vain attempt at sidestepping the mystical trend that produced the citation above, holds that God did NOT do what He says He did, or that it's a "mystery to be revealed in the end to us all."

Of course God created evil.
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." -Isaiah 45:7
God created everything. That doesn't mean God did a bad thing. Evil is the counterpoint to good. Goodness is only relevent if evil exists.
Evil, like goodness... aren't things. They're attitudes...directions. Try to imagine a road that allows you to walk north but not south. If there is no potential for going south... then there's no potential for going North.
If we have no potential for evil, then we have no potential for good.

I don't believe God created Evil. Evil creates evil. I see it as two completely separate forces

God didn't Create Evil. He Created Being's who became Evil. They had "Free Will".

God did not create evil. He created the angels. One angel, Lucifer (which means light), decided he wanted to be equal in greatness with God. He got some other angels to follow him. As a result, God banned him from heaven forever. He's now in hell, and is known as Satan.

People create god or the gods they worship. People have the capacity to be good or evil. Evil is choice, has nothing to do with a god or concept of god.

Anyone who is familiar with the scriptures realizes that God has only allowed evil, he has not created it. He gave both angels and humans free will and hoped that they would learn to listen to Him but He did not force them. He has power to undo every wicked thing, including death but He is allowing all of us time to learn from the mistakes of others. Will we??

I believe that existence is split into dichotomies. You NEED one to have the other, as they cannot exist seperately- like life/death, up/down, forward/reverse. And so it's the same with good/evil. So let's just say, for argument's sake, that as per the Bible "God" created the earth, and "it was good". Right then and there, evil was created too. You just can't have one without the other.
