you would not very well tell the general you would get up and do what he asked you to do tomorrow, would you? So why, if you are a Christian do you do this to God when he tells you to get up every morning and lead by example? Will He tell you wait til later when you seek entrance into heaven?

Poki...I think God/Allah should be in your thoughts 24/7. If He was then we would not have time to judge others and worry about what they may or may not be doing that is not in accord with us. Insh'allah my friend

No soldier tells the general anything other than he wants to know. That is why there is a chain of command in the military and we have the same type of chain in our churches.

A sergeant or a corporal will be the person to yank your butt out of the bunk without any hesitation. Further, they don't ask--they "direct" you to perform certain tasks and functions and they have that authority given them by the company commander.

Unlike the military, we can go direct to God for guidance and support. Each person may have to have a gentle nudge from God to do the right thing. With some people it can take years before certain truths sink in.

when one is in the military one follows orders, so a soldier had better do what a superior officer tells one to do or there will be consequences the soldier will face which may be unpleasant indeed
