I just found my dogs kong after it being outside for a month. It is covered and dirt and mold is there any way to clean it? Is bleach an option if I rewash it?

Definitely the dishwasher, but bleach is ok too. Or both.

Pure bleach breaks down into harmless salts after a while, so it is perfectly okay to soak the toy in bleach, rinse it well, and let it dry out for 2-3 days before giving it back to your dog.

Personally, kongs aren't that expensive, and it might be easier and better just to trash the toy and buy a new one.

I would put wash it first and then run it through the dishwasher. Used to do that all the time. Another option would be throw it in the washer w/o bleach and wash it by itself.

Diluted bleach is fine. For general cleaning I use dish soap and a bottle brush.

I bleach everything.!!! Then I wash it with soap. Use a toothbrush to get it scrubbed up good. the little bristles will get in the imbedded teeth marks and clean it up.
