Right now I make it in 5x7ceramic pans which cost a lot and are breakable and heavy to send. I pour the fudge into the pans, so they would have to be food grade and able to have something hot poured into them.

I know "book rate" is the cheapest way to mail things...of course these aren't books....hmm

Call your local post office and ask them the cheapest way to mail them and the best way to wrap them...you may be able to use yellow (manilla) envelopes which would be easier than wrapping each batch. They also ask if the item is perishable, which I suppose fudge is, in the respect that it could melt. They would be your best advice as far as shipping cost goes. Maybe UPS would be cheaper if you have that available, so I would give them a call too.

When calling, have an idea of the measurements of the item and the approximate weight.

Also, plan ahead and ship early, especially if intended for Christmas!

God bless you!

Try doing like the catalogue stores like Figi's do. Buy a round tin with a lid, and pour the fudge into it, make sure it isn't poured too thick. Then put a piece of waxed paper on top, and put on the lid. Or use your own pan, cool the fudge, and cut it, then load it into a tin.You can buy those little fluted candy papers, that might work.
The tins come in many sizes, and are available in a lot of stores. and they are already decorated.
For an example, go to Figi's, online. they have a picture. Go Figi's, select candy, then select fudge. Good luck
Oh, and don't bother giving me ten points if you like my answer, send me a tin of fudge! LOL.

Now, are you selling this fudge or just sending it to family and friends? Check your local grocery store, they should have cheap aluminum pans that you could pour the fudge into. Also, check with your local Post Office about the Priority Mail flat rate boxes. It is $8.10 to any US address (which includes service members overseas) and get the pans that would fit in those boxes. Use plastic wrap around the pans of fudge, then use newspaper to pad the pans in the boxes.

line wooden boxes (like bento boxes, used in japanese restaurants) with foil and fill them up with fudge. they are light to be sent through the mail. they are cute and nice. and they do not absorb heat, so your fudge cools easily. and you can finish them with a strip of cellophane tape around the edge of the box, and a ribbon!

I ship all mine in the dollar store tins (holiday decor with lids). I line them with baking parchment or saran wrap and place the cut pieces in them. You could also just pour into the baking parchment but then it is one solid lump and the cut pieces are easier for immediate eating.
