First, I would like to make one thing clear that whether you would do it right with your Son's/Daughter's marriage.

The answer is : because in India, we live in a society that bothers more about what their friends and neighbour does rather than what they do.

Why this matters is more important? is what you imagine.

Yes it matters, Parents always want to get a good name to the family and not that Guinness book records or those that make to the pages of Newspaper headlines. Also the society is ready to put a gossip about such a marriage involving a bad brought up by your parents.

It may be education or marriage or Organ donation... They want us to be their children and not ourselves. They simply ignore what we want to show this world.

I suppose atleast you would not do this to your children.

interior 20,000 years Homo Sapiens Sapiens will radiate into 2 succcessor species faith substantial -- homestead Sapiens Fides and technological know-how guy Homo Sapiens Scienter. communities with those characteristics are already on the point of "breeds" (like labradores and poodles). The loss of inter-fertility takes an prolonged time. For Lucy and the others like her at Olduvai Gorge to lose inter-fertility with Homo-Habilis took 40,000 years. yet our 2 proto-species stay greater aside than have been the early Homo-Sapiens and the previous due Homo-Habilis (who lived proximally to a minimum of one yet another in East Africa). Mark my words.

my parents sat me down when I was about 16 and told me that they would love and support me regardless of who I decided to date/marry, but to remember that you may choose a hard life to live. If you're from to different religions, you have the difficulty of raising children with which beliefs, you're own moral decisions. If it's because of race (although this is MUCH LESS prevalent now) many people will judge you. If you are of the same sex, same issue.
I think parents want to make kid's lives as easy as possible and they can see "problems" where perhaps you wouldn't (probably because they aren't "problems" to you. If I feel in love with someone I'm sure the difficult things wouldn't seem so difficult)

Love and marriage is a bond created by God between a man and a woman and without love, onone can have a successful marriage. God gives each man a choice to choose whom they serve and no matter what religion you are affiliated with there is only one creator and one true God, the God of LOVE. The truth shall set you free.

I don't know about the love bit but the two religions bit actually makes a lot of sense. If you don't have the same beliefs, how on earth do you expect to share your whole lives?

B'cos they know, by virtue of their experience, that in case of different religions both of them are going to face big problem in life. At younger age, love makes one blind and youngters tend to ignore this very important issue. No one can guarantee happiness in life but Parents just want to avoid things which are almost certain to cause major problem in life of their child(ren).

This is one of so many other social reasons.

some parents are religious, and want their children to remain in the same faith as they are.
some parents believe that cultural differences between husband and wife harm the long time stability of marriage.
