It could be that the tick's head stayed under the skin when the vet pulled the body off. There will also be some swelling just from the tick bite. Carefully clean the area with peroxide every day (don't let it drip in his eyes!!) and if it doesn't go away in a few days, or if it gets bigger or redder, take the dog back to the vet for antibiotics.

Do not use peroxide.
Im sure the vet was capable of making sure he got the entire tick.
The swelling should go down. Be patient. Its a bug bite.

I agree with Alyssa, that it might be normal yet bears watching.
Just how big is the bump? If it's pea sized, that's one thing. If it's huge, that's another.

my dog gets them all the time.
yes in time the bump will go down its just where the head s stil under the skin!!!
