When should I cut and color my hair?

If I want to look nice for a specific event should I cut and color my hair 1 week before? 2 weeks before? 3 weeks before?

It's for the Holidays-I want to look nice for my family and freinds I haven't seen in a few months.

I would say one week before at the most.
i say this because if you don't like the color, there is time for a change, and you can also experiment with the new shape.
But maybe 3 days before the event if you cant trust you will love your hair dye and cut get it done then, so your hair is fresher and the cut is more shaped :)

Make sure to get tips and tricks from your hairstylist so you can make your hair look like you just walked out the salon when you go to your event.

You should never do something drastic when you are going to an important event. Just color your hair the same color you normally would use, and have a good hair cut! Nothing drastic. If you want to do something totally different, do it at a time when you don't have anything important coming up. That way you can have the time to either change it or grow it out. Then, the next time an event comes up, you will look great because you've experimented well in advance. And it will be your natural look, instead of putting on a show.

72 hours prior is best. Fresh cut, should give no time for any further split ends to show up. Color in hair should still be fresh.

Now a word from me. Why color your hair? All it does is pollute the world water supply. How about braids in your hair?

hi hun. you should cut your hair 2 weeks before going in the sun to allow it to 'settle' and to colour 2 weeks the same. thats for going in the sun tho and seems as you are just visiting friends etc you can do it when ever you feel as your hair isnt getting exposed to anything unusual like the sun etc. dont forget at 4 weeks you will have roots and your hair will of grown...i would do it a week or less before so my hair is at its best xx

I think if you know in advance that you are going to something special you should book an appointment with your stylist to have your hair done that day so you look your absolute best.
