Yes they do. I read a book a year or so ago about a murder but goes into Mormon history to set the mind set of the murderers who were part of an off-shoot sect, Any ways if i recall correctly the South Park version is almost identical. So either they got it right or they got their Ideas from this book and this book is full of it. Gee I wish I could remember the name of the book.
Edit: Found the title of the book. Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer. A very good read. I highly recommend it for anyone who was intrigued by the South Park episode.

Yes it does - basically. I've studied Mormonism extensively and live among them, and while the rank-and-file members mostly aren't aware of details about how Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormons by burying his face in a hat, or about his occult activities, they are a matter of historical fact. IF you ask any Mormon about the church's early history they basically have no idea about much of it except for Church-sanctioned details.

Southpark is a satirical TV cartoon whose writers seem to have specific "issues" on the subject of religion.
Satires depend on making another or others look ridiculous for their humour......... Southpark will never get anything right, if they did it wouldn't be laughed at, would it ?
You might want to get away from the TV for a while and find out for yourself if you really want to get it right.

Not sure, but I think they have it right about muslims.

Shouting "Ggod is the greatest!" just before you slaughter inoscent people is a great way to spread the good news of your religion!

Because it is a cartoon, they stretched the beliefs and made it seem more ridiculous than it actually is, BUT, they were pretty much accurate!
