Does anyone know the phone number or address for the manufacturer of Carefree Heather carpets. I had one of these installed 18 months ago and it is in terrible condition - the hessian backing is seperating from the pile. The bloke we bought it from also installed it, and although we have contacted him on numerous occassions, and despite promises of visiting us and contacting the manufacturer, we have yet to have any sort of result. He will not give us the details of the manufacturer but the carpet is dangerous and it needs replacing asap. Can anyone help?

I have managed to find out that the manufacturer of the carpet is Furlong based in Dartford, Kent, with other branches in Preston, Belfast and Newport. Has anyone else had any issues with these manufacturers? I need to dertermine whether the problem lays with the carpet supplier and fitter or the manufacturer itself.

I have ran into similar problems with other carpet manufacturers. Unfortunately, even if you were to contact them directly they would tell you to call the person/company who initially sold it to you. Try to locate the area rep. The manufacturer could hopefully direct you to them. They would be the liaison between the manufacturer and the sales person.

If your "bloke" is a registered or licensed professional tradesman, you can address this with your local courthouse. Put a lean on his business or just sue him. If he is not, then you are pretty much up for a long battle.

I've been selling carpet and other flooring for 6 years and I have never even heard of Carefree-Heather carpets. It sounds like that could be the name of the line, not the manufacturer. But even then, I'm not familiar with the name.

Best of luck.

I could not find details of the company your require but this firm called Internet carpets direct sell your type of carpet.
Thought it might be worth you giving them a call to see if they have suppliers details they can give you.
If you have no luck i would suggest speaking to trading standards.

Just go online and run some searches, then contact them.
