That would be too easy just simply to ask the person out. Some people see the challenge and fun of the chase. Its great to see a male giving you some attention, women love to be chased and men like to chase.

They want to let the other person know that they are really interested as for asking them out well some people are a little shy in that category.

I suspect that the chase alludes to the hunter/prey scenario.
It would be so much simpler if we said what we fealt and meant what we said instead of playing the games we all do.....
If someone plays hard to get, turn around and walk away. Its their loss and you have better things to do - such as finding that special person thats worthy of your attention and accepts it gladly.
Good luck!

its the excitement of the chase its the feeling of want its the build up of possiblities in your mind its the prethought to a personal conquest ... if everything in your life is handed to you , you will never respect the things you earn .. fighting for a persons love makes strong relationships.

because the chase is the fun part, to see if they can "get the girl" or guy. Once they know they have them, its no fun anymore.

I have no idea, I have never chased anyone in my life. However, my guess is that they are trying to build up the courage, and the thought that they may be turned down weighs heavy. They have to build up the courage. God bless*

maybe because they want to learn more about the person they like before asking them out. also may be because they are shy.
