I don't have it, but my friend does. And it sounds gross, adn I don't wnat to get it....so what causes it and how can I prevent it from happening to me?

Stay away from your friend and don't use any of her things untill her mother or father fixes her lice problem - you can catch lice just from being close to her.

Keep your head away from her and any of her belongings. Do not use or wear anything of hers.If you are going to be around her, keep your hair pulled back or up so that it is not hanging down. Lice is not just for people who are dirty or do not wash their hair. Anyone can get lice. Even those with clean hair. If possible stay away from her till the problem is taking care of and she has no more lice! There is a shampoo she can use, check your local drug store. Good luck!!!

hun. Lice is like the human flea, nothin really causes it but people canget it by .. go out in the woods or somethign. I know that lice is attracted to really clean hair, 'cause its easier for them to move around and multiply in. Maybe you havent gotten them because you havent bumped heads with them ... literally ... or share somethign that his lice are on ... if i was you i would go to the drug store and get some lice shampoo and wash your hair with it once in awhile just so you dont get them to because they suck butt! better be save then sorry.

Lice causes lice. It is abug that moves from one head to another. I would suggest not spending too much time around your friend while he or she has it. You also want to avoid their upholstery or furniture as nits (eggs) can be transferred that way.

lice are just little bugs.
when you get it, you have to use these special products. (tea tree shampoo)
stay away from her and you should have no problem

i think its caused by not bathing & not washing your clothes,& wearing the same clothes over & over.
